The Grangegorman Residence is a contemporary home located in Dublin, Ireland and designed by ODOS Architects. The square, flat-roofed house makes a statement against the older traditional homes in the surrounding neighborhood. The Grangegorman Residence was completed in 2008 and is only about 1,500 square feet, and it’s less than 30 feet wide!
Despite its cute size, the home isn’t lacking in style or comfort. Outside, the glazed silvery windows reflect the sunlight and sky to create a sleek wall of glass. The home’s flat and shiny facade quietly calls for attention next to the neighboring old stone buildings.
Inside the house, the walls are finished with a flat, bright white finish throughout to maximize light and to create feeling of spaciousness in the narrow residence. A light-stained wide-plank wood flooring adds to this effect while also warming up the space. Ghostline baseboard molding runs throughout the house to finish of the high-end modern look.
Although The Grangegorman Residence has a minimalist vibe, it still offers plenty of practical amenities, like a small garage on the ground floor, a cozy private balcony on the second level, and plenty of built-in bookshelves running up the stairs for knick knacks and decorative items.
